Regional Forums for Job Growth and Economic Development

“Addressing the Challenges & Opportunities of Advancing the Billion Ton Bioeconomy” (archival, 2016)

These forums were conducted in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Energy, and regional co-host entities.  The fundamental premise of the forums was the projection that the United States has the ability to sustainably produce over one billion tons of biomass annually, by 2030, for industrial purposes including fuels, chemicals and consumer products.  The forums were constructed to provide information to and receive input from key stakeholders, relative to the challenges and opportunities inherent in advancing the bioeconomy, as well as to determine their priorities and interest in enacting regional strategies as an outcome of each forum.
